Life's Gift is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing training, education and research on sustainable systems for fresh air, collecting and creating potable water, growing healthy food, energy, and outreach programs for the distribution of food, clothing, medicines and other necessities of life to, and providing shelter for, needy persons in the United States and throughout the world.
Sustainability is the path that will lead us there!
If your goal is to get back to the basics of living, helping yourself and others, you might be a good candidate for one of our programs. Also, if you have a passion to help others learn these basic skills, we have other programs for you too.
The most valuable skills you can have are the ones that produce, move and sustain the means of life.
Air - Creating balanced environments for a healthy, soothing and comfortable atmosphere
Water - Get systems in place to produce clean water
Food - Get the skills you need to create sustainable gardens in small areas of your home and yard
Shelter - Learn how to make your home more energy efficient
Energy - Produce energy to sustain your home
Economy - Develop relationships with other like-minded people - share what you know - build true community in your area!
Developing sustainability skills starts with an applied understanding through basic activities you do every day. Helping you create a sustainable environment in your home gives you a practical way to learn these skills.
It is one thing to trust the water from your tap, but it is yet another to be sure you have safe water.
It is one thing to earn the money to put food on the table, but it is yet another to be skilled enough to grow it yourself.
It is one thing to earn the money to buy your home, but it is yet another to be skilled enough to build it yourself.
It is one thing to trust that the power won't go out, but it is yet another to produce your own.
No matter what your current job, learn skills that produce, move and sustain the means of life! Whether you learn through official study, apprenticeship work, or by buying some books, just do it! Start this week. Today! Once you are competent in your skills, teach others!
